Coinbase partners with African stablecoin exchange Yellow Card to expand its reach across 20 African countries
Coinbase has partnered with African stablecoin exchange Yellow Card to expand its product reach across 20 African countries, enabling over half of Africa's population to purchase USDC through the Coinbase wallet app. The collaboration also allows users to send stablecoins for free via email and popular messaging apps. Yellow Card users will additionally be able to buy USDC on Base. In September 2022, Yellow Card raised $40 million in a Series B round led by Polychain Capital.
