TechFlow news: Greeks.live macro researcher Adam released the January 12 options expiry data:
36,000 BTC options are expiring, with a Put Call Ratio of 0.9, maximum pain at $45,000, and a notional value of $1.68 billion.
262,000 ETH options are expiring, with a Put Call Ratio of 0.64, maximum pain at $2,400, and a notional value of $680 million.
Long gamma will be highly cost-effective this week. Medium- and short-term IV peaked before ETF approval, then declined noticeably as market volatility failed to meet expectations. In the long run, the approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs will bring substantial incremental capital to the crypto market. However, in the short term, amid various conflicting factors, significant uncertainty remains, and extreme volatility like this week's could persist for several days.
