TechFlow news — A Vanguard customer service representative said the asset management giant will not offer spot bitcoin ETFs on its platform, calling them "highly speculative," "unregulated," and incompatible with the firm's long-term investment philosophy.
Currently, Vanguard customers can only sell GBTC. A spokesperson confirmed that spot bitcoin funds are not available on the platform, stating: "Our longstanding view is that the high volatility of cryptocurrencies runs counter to our mission of helping investors achieve positive real returns over the long term."
Vanguard is the world's second-largest asset manager, behind BlackRock.
