TechFlow News, January 11 — Bitget has released a new research report analyzing the latest trends in funding for blockchain startups, with a focus on the impact of gender disparities. The study aims to highlight existing gender inequalities within the industry and explore potential solutions.
From Q1 2022 to Q3 2023, total funding for blockchain startups declined by 70.1%. Statistical data shows that startups led by men attracted $27.85 billion in investment, while those led by women raised $1.77 billion—only 6.34% of the total. Over time, the share of funding going to female-led startups has slightly increased, rising from 8.3% in 2022 to 8.6% in Q3 2023.
Gracy Chen, Managing Director at Bitget, commented on the report: “Bitget’s research indicates a clear correlation between a founder’s gender and the amount of funding they receive. We must build a merit-based ecosystem free from gender bias. Bitget remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunity to thrive in the industry.”
