TechFlow reports that Hong Kong Legislative Council member Johnny Ng stated on X that Hong Kong should "take the lead" in the cryptocurrency space by introducing spot cryptocurrency ETFs.
He said: "The Securities and Futures Commission has previously expressed willingness to accept applications for spot Bitcoin ETFs. I hope that Hong Kong can quickly secure a global position amid the rapid development and intense competition in the virtual asset industry, particularly by being among the first in Asia to implement relevant policies and products."
