TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, lawyer Oscar Franklin Tan stated: "People cannot use the Steamboat Willie version of Mickey Mouse in a way that leads others to believe their work is associated with Disney."
He added, "Under U.S. law, only the specific depiction of Mickey Mouse from 1928 has entered the public domain—a much more grotesque black-and-white character with a longer nose and no gloves. The Mickey Mouse trademark and brand, separate from the character, remain proprietary. You can't suddenly produce your own Mickey merchandise. Anyone using the 1928 version of Mickey must clearly state that their creation or product is not affiliated with Disney, the trademark owner."
When asked about using the 1928 Mickey形象 in NFTs, the lawyer said anyone using the image must clarify they are unaffiliated with Disney.
