TechFlow news — Earlier this week, the European Union announced new sanctions against Russian nationals.
The relevant portion of the newly released sanctions list on December 18 states: "Today’s decision includes prohibiting Russian nationals from owning, controlling, or serving in any position on the management bodies of legal persons, entities, or bodies that provide crypto-asset wallet, account, or custody services to Russians and residents."
Although the notice does not fully clarify the exact scope of covered account services, the reference to "accounts" suggests Russian nationals are now barred from accessing major cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms.
