TechFlow news, according to sources familiar with the matter, X's advertising revenue for 2023 is expected to be approximately $2.5 billion, a significant decline compared to previous years. The sources said that in each of the first three quarters of this year, X's ad revenue was slightly above $600 million, and the current quarter is expected to perform similarly. By contrast, last year's quarterly ad revenue exceeded $1 billion.
Two sources indicated that advertising revenue currently accounts for 70%-75% of X's total income. This implies that total revenue for 2023 will be around $3.4 billion, including sales from subscriptions and data licensing deals. One of the sources noted that X executives initially aimed for $3 billion in combined ad and subscription revenue in 2023, but actual figures will fall well short of that target.
