TechFlow reports that Vivek Ramaswamy, a U.S. presidential candidate known for his pro-crypto stance, has criticized SEC Chair Gary Gensler for failing to clearly define the regulatory status of cryptocurrencies.
During the Republican primary debate, Ramaswamy emphasized that regulators must keep pace with cryptocurrency trends, citing the FTX collapse as an example of inadequate regulatory frameworks. He also criticized Gensler for not clarifying whether Ethereum should be regulated.
Another Republican presidential candidate, Ron DeSantis, has voiced opposition to central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), stating he would abandon the idea of a U.S. CBDC on his first day in office.
