TechFlow reports that Mantle, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, has launched a new non-custodial liquid staking protocol called Mantle LSP on the Ethereum mainnet, introducing mETH as its representative token, focusing on providing liquid staking derivatives for ETH stakers.
Users can deposit ETH into the protocol to participate in network staking via validator nodes and receive corresponding staked tokens in the form of mETH. The protocol is governed by the Mantle decentralized autonomous organization, marking Mantle's expansion following the deployment of its Layer 2 network.
The mainnet contract for the liquid staking protocol initially launched in a restricted alpha phase in early October, followed by a permissionless phase to broaden user access and participation.
