TechFlow news, according to multiple independent sources cited by 36Kr, ByteDance has recently established a new AI department called Flow. The technical lead is Hong Dingkun, Vice President of Technology at ByteDance, while the business lead is Zhu Wenjia, head of ByteDance's large model team.
The department has already launched products including Doubao and Cici, and plans to release more AI-driven innovative products. This move is part of ByteDance's comprehensive strategy in the AI field, demonstrating its commitment to investing across both model and application layers. In early November, as part of business and structural adjustments, ByteDance reallocated personnel from business units such as Feishu and Douyin to join Flow, focusing on developing new consumer-facing products.
