TechFlow reported, according to Reuters, citing a court document stating that U.S. prosecutors urged a federal judge on Wednesday to require Changpeng Zhao to remain in the continental United States before his sentencing hearing on February 23, 2024, and to prevent him from returning to the UAE prior to sentencing. The document stated that Zhao's bail amount "is insufficient to ensure his return to the UAE."
Earlier, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice said that Zhao is expected to stay in Seattle until the evening of next Monday, after which he would be allowed to return to his residence in the UAE.
