TechFlow news — The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong has updated the list of virtual asset trading platform applicants. The latest information shows that PantherTrade, a virtual asset trading platform operated by Cheetah Trading (Hong Kong) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Futu Holdings, submitted its application for a virtual asset trading platform license on November 15.
To date, a total of six companies have formally submitted applications for virtual asset trading platform licenses to the SFC, while one application from "AMMBR (HK) LIMITED" has been withdrawn.
According to available information, PantherTrade appointed Chan Chi Wu as a director on September 14. Previously, Chan served as Investment Director at Huobi Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited. Following Huobi's rebranding to Onchain Capital Technology, Chan’s role under Onchain Asset Management ended in May 2023. Another director is Hung Yik Man. The company filed its incorporation documents on March 7 this year, with Fang Xing Zhi as the first appointed director. Records indicate that Fang previously worked at JD Securities Limited from September 2019 to July 2020.
