TechFlow News – Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer has announced the launch of the second phase testnet for EigenLayer and EigenDA, featuring the following key functionalities:
- Operators can now register on the network and begin validating EigenDA;
- Restakers can delegate their stake to Operators and start leveraging shared security with EigenDA;
- Rollup developers can integrate EigenDA as a data availability layer.
According to EigenLayer's initial roadmap, the project’s rollout will occur in three phases designed to attract diverse participants to the ecosystem. In Phase 1 (Stakers), stakers were able to experiment with restaking via EigenLayer. In Phase 2 (Operators), node operators can accept stake delegations from users on EigenLayer. Phase 3 (Services) will introduce additional Active Validation Services (AVSs) beyond EigenDA.
The first phase (Stakers) has already concluded testing and launched on mainnet. EigenLayer expects the second phase to go live on mainnet in the first half of 2024, while the third phase is scheduled to enter both testnet and mainnet by 2024.
