TechFlow reports that on Friday afternoon, the decentralized finance platform Raft suffered a hacker attack, losing approximately $3.3 million worth of Ethereum. However, the attacker may have also incurred losses during this theft.
On-chain data shows that the attacker stole 1,577 ETH from Raft and subsequently sent 1,570 ETH to a burn address, destroying most of the stolen assets and leaving only 7 ETH. Notably, prior to the attack, the hacker's address had received 18 ETH through the cryptocurrency mixing service Tornado Cash, likely to fund transaction costs.
After executing transfers and paying blockchain fees, the attacker's crypto wallet was left with only 14 ETH—less than the initial 18 ETH.
