TechFlow News — Indian Ethereum scaling project Stackr Labs has announced a $5.5 million seed funding round led by Archetype, with participation from a16z Crypto Startup School, Lemniscap, Scalar Capital, and others. Stackr plans to expand its team and launch a testnet. The company also intends to establish a grant program to attract developers to build on its platform.
Stackr is developing Ethereum scaling infrastructure focused on "micro-rollups," or application-specific rollups, designed to help developers launch scalable web3 applications using web2 programming languages. Stackr says its modular framework will allow developers to focus solely on application-specific logic while the platform manages the underlying rollup infrastructure.
Stackr compares its micro-rollups to traditional or general-purpose rollups (such as Optimism and zk-rollups), explaining that while traditional rollups resemble monolithic systems, micro-rollups are more like microservices—a collection of small, autonomous services that help scale applications.
Kundan, a representative from Stackr, said the company is currently focused on scaling Ethereum but remains open to integrating other blockchains in the future.
