TechFlow News, Shell Protocol has announced the launch of Shell v3, aiming to address limitations of previous versions and enable integration with existing DeFi protocols. The development roadmap for Shell v3 consists of the following five steps:
-
$SHELL TGE (December 2023): Launch the $SHELL token and establish a decentralized DAO to lay the foundation for the Shell ecosystem.
-
Core protocol modifications (Ocean) to support adapter primitives (December 2023): Released concurrently with the TGE, enabling integration with major DeFi protocols.
-
Integration with major DeFi protocols (Q1 2024): Shell users will be able to access all major DeFi aspects within a single platform, positioning Shell as the front-end interface for DeFi.
-
Implementation of Shell Intent functionality (Q2 2024): Introduction of intent-based execution to enable gasless and MEV-resistant transactions.
-
Integration of cross-chain bridging primitives (future): Shell users will be able to access any protocol on any chain directly within the Shell application, eliminating concerns about chain selection.
