TechFlow — According to an official statement, the Fantom Foundation has released a notice regarding a recent wallet attack, confirming that a small number of wallets were affected, including approximately $550,000 worth of funds belonging to the Fantom Foundation. The vast majority of the Foundation's funds (over 99%) remain unaffected and secure.
The Fantom Foundation stated it is currently investigating the attack vector: a personal wallet belonging to a Fantom employee was compromised. Some of the affected wallets were labeled as "Foundation wallets," but these wallets were no longer in active use by the organization and had been reassigned to a Fantom employee. As such, this was a targeted personal attack.
