TechFlow news — Web3 credential data network Galxe has posted on X, stating that its website has been fully restored and that it will continue to strengthen security measures.
Galxe explained that on October 6, an unidentified individual contacted its domain service provider, Dynadot, impersonating an authorized Galxe team member and bypassing security protocols using forged documents. The impersonator then gained unauthorized access to the domain account, redirecting users to a fraudulent website and authorizing transactions that stole user funds.
Galxe emphasized that this incident only affected the domain and front-end application. All Galxe smart contracts and technical systems remain secure and protected. Approximately 1,120 users who interacted with the malicious site were impacted, with around $270,000 stolen.
In addition, Galxe stated: “We are actively collaborating with law enforcement and third-party experts to develop a fund recovery plan. We will ensure support for everyone affected. Once we obtain the complete list of transactions, we will notify users of the next steps.”
