TechFlow reports, according to documents filed by prosecutors on Wednesday, SBF's Bombardier Global 5000 BD-700-1A11 and Embraer Legacy EMB-135BJ will be seized. The two aircraft were purchased for $15.9 million and $12.5 million respectively.
Starting around October 2021, a private charter company in the Bahamas, TIA, began providing private jet and other shipping services for SBF, as well as other FTX executives, employees, business partners, guests, family members, and friends. In total, the company provided over $15 million worth of such services.
After purchasing the two private jets, FTX intended to upgrade them with features including "cutting-edge Wi-Fi and brand-new interiors." However, the upgrades were still underway when FTX collapsed last November, meaning the planes were never actually used.
