TechFlow news: Immutable has released its mainnet launch roadmap, announcing that Immutable zkEVM will undergo technical upgrades in the coming months to prepare for mainnet deployment.
In November 2023, the plan is to rebuild the Immutable zkEVM testnet by upgrading its first EVM client from Polygon Edge to Geth, ensuring Immutable zkEVM closely aligns with Ethereum while achieving full compatibility with the broader Ethereum tooling ecosystem.
From December to January next year, the zkEVM mainnet will go live, with developers invited in batches to join prior to public availability.
In 2024, Immutable will offer dedicated application-specific chains featuring the same technology stack and capabilities as Immutable zkEVM, but with unique customization levels.
A key future milestone for Immutable zkEVM will be the introduction of a zk-prover—the moment it truly becomes a "zk" EVM—enabling a trustless bridge between Ethereum and Immutable zkEVM.
