TechFlow news, on October 2, Galaxy Research Vice President Christine Kim published a summary of the 171st Ethereum Core Developers' Execution (ACDE) call, covering discussions from the September 28 meeting on Dencun upgrade testing progress, early audit results of EIP-4788 and the beacon block root in the EVM, the launch of the Holesky testnet, EIP-7503, preliminary feedback on zk wormhole, and proposed changes to EIP-6780 limiting the SELFDESTRUCT opcode to only within the same transaction.
Regarding Dencun testing, the release of Devnet-9 has been delayed again. Developers plan to launch Devnet-9 by the end of September or this week. After Devnet-9 launches, they intend to initiate a tenth Devnet (Devnet-10) specifically for the Dencun upgrade, which will have a relatively short lifecycle. Developers will also test validator workflows using MEV-Boost software on both Devnet-9 and Devnet-10 to capture MEV.
On EIP-4788, developers reported completion of three audits conducted by Chainsecurity, Trail of Bits, and Dedaub. One of the most significant findings was that users could query smart contract addresses with a zero timestamp, even if no value had been set for that timestamp. Prior to this meeting, the Holesky testnet had already launched.
