TechFlow reports, on September 29, Revoke.cash announced a new type of scam on the X platform. Fraudulent websites prompt users to add a "new chain," which is actually an existing public blockchain with only the name modified. These sites then request users to send what appears to be worthless newly branded tokens, but in reality are valuable tokens such as ETH or BNB. Users should carefully verify when adding new networks.
Revoke.cash demonstrated an example: a website asked users to add a chain with ID 56 and native token labeled as SCAM, which is actually the BNB Chain. When users were prompted to transfer the token labeled SCAM valued at $0, they were in fact transferring BNB.
