TechFlow Post - On Wednesday, during a hearing, U.S. Congressman Al Green asked SEC Chair Gary Gensler whether he believed America could have a properly regulated digital currency.
Gensler responded: "I think the dollar is quite strong; we already use it in a form of digital dollars. Cryptographic tokens are different—they're not money and do not fulfill the three functions of money: store of value, unit of account, or medium of exchange. Maybe one day they will, but frankly, that won't happen in 2023."
