TechFlow news — According to an official announcement, modular blockchain Celestia has launched its airdrop, offering 7,579 developers and 576,653 on-chain addresses the opportunity to join Celestia from the very first block. Eligible participants can claim up to 60 million of Celestia’s native token TIA by 20:00 Beijing time on October 17, 2023.
One-third of the Genesis Drop (20 million TIA) is allocated to 7,579 developers and researchers, including contributors in the following areas:
-
Public goods and critical protocol infrastructure;
-
Eth Research, where the idea of LazyLedger was first discussed;
-
Individuals who helped build the early modular ecosystem, including public contributors to other modular DA layers currently under development, such as Avail, Eigenlayer, and Solana, which actively participated in Modular Summits I and II.
Two-thirds are allocated to 576,653 on-chain addresses:
-
20 million TIA allocated to the most active users of Ethereum rollups;
-
20 million TIA distributed to stakers and IBC relayers on Cosmos Hub and Osmosis.
With TIA, rollup developers can pay for blobspace fees, bootstrap new rollups without issuing tokens, and participate in network consensus and governance.
