TechFlow reported, according to Cointelegraph, that cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx has disclosed progress regarding its previous hacking incident, stating that a private key leak allowed hackers to steal tokens worth over $70 million. CoinEx emphasized that this amount represents only a small fraction of the total assets it manages and that affected users will receive full compensation for all financial losses.
CoinEx stated that it is still investigating the identity of the party responsible for the security breach, with several blockchain security firms suggesting the attacker may be the North Korean hacking group Lazarus Group. Additionally, CoinEx has opened communication channels with the hacker in an effort to reach a mutually agreed-upon solution.
