TechFlow news — After the FTX debtors sued Sam Bankman-Fried's parents, Stanford University was found to have ties with FTX funds. Stanford received over $5.5 million in donations from the FTX Group, reportedly donated directly to the school by SBF's father, Stanford professor Joe Bankman. In a statement provided to Blockworks, a Stanford spokesperson acknowledged these donations and pledged to return the funds to the debtors.
The spokesperson said: "Gifts Stanford received from the FTX Foundation and FTX-affiliated entities were primarily directed toward pandemic-related prevention and research. We have been in discussions with the attorneys representing the FTX debtors regarding the return of these gifts, and we will be returning the funds in full."
