TechFlow reports that Movement Labs, a modular blockchain network based on the Move language, has announced the completion of a $3.4 million Pre-Seed funding round. The round was co-led by Varys Capital, dao5, Blizzard Fund under Avalanche, Borderless Capital, and its cross-chain fund focused on the Wormhole ecosystem. Additional participants include Colony, Interop Ventures, Elixir Capital, BENQI, as well as individual investors George Lampeth from dao5, Calvin Liu from Eigenlayer, Smokey The Bera from Berachain, Anurag Arjun from Avail, CoinFlipCanada from GMX, and the co-founder of Ankr.
Alongside securing seed funding, Movement Labs launched the Movement SDK, which delivers secure and high-performance Move environments to established blockchain ecosystems. One of the key components of the Movement SDK is M1—a modular, horizontally scalable, and vertically composable blockchain designed to combine performance with accessibility.
To address cold-start challenges faced by new protocols, M1 natively bootstraps its ecosystem, liquidity, validator set, and EVM tooling by adhering to Avalanche consensus. Through the Movement SDK, Movement has built a framework that integrates horizontal interoperability via a high-throughput modular Move virtual machine. Built on the Avalanche Subnet technology stack, M1 enables pioneers like Movement Labs to develop infinitely scalable custom blockchains.
