TechFlow news, Robert Leshner, founder of the Compound protocol, believes the day institutional investors truly enter the cryptocurrency market has not yet arrived. He said that currently, institutional investors are not very interested in trading or lending cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Chainlink.
However, institutional investors are highly interested in blockchain technology, especially in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. Yet, they prefer to use these technologies to trade and lend "their own assets," such as stocks, bonds, currencies, and commodities—rather than cryptocurrencies.
Leshner believes this will become a major turning point in the DeFi space over the next decade.
