TechFlow news — Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the next generation of stablecoins will be "flatcoins" (stablecoins that track inflation rates).
He added that several teams are currently exploring this concept, and although there are no concrete results yet, there is strong interest. The idea behind flatcoins is to be indexed to inflation rates rather than pegged to a specific currency or asset. By tracking inflation, flatcoins aim to offer better value preservation and more attractive investment returns. Earlier, the Base Ecosystem Fund, led by Coinbase Ventures, announced support for flatcoins as one of its key focus areas.
