TechFlow news, Sony Network Communications, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony, and Startale Labs, the development company behind Polkadot parachain Astar Network, will establish a joint venture subsidiary named "Sony Network Communications Labs Pte. Ltd." in mid-September. The new company will focus on blockchain technology research and development.
Startale Labs CEO Sohta Watanabe said the new joint subsidiary will advance the development of Sony Chain, which has the potential to surpass Coinbase's previously launched Layer 2 network, Base.
Earlier on June 28, it was reported that Astar Network’s primary developer, Startale Labs, received a $3.5 million investment from Sony Network Communications.
