Isaacson has previewed in The Wall Street Journal a chapter from the biography focusing on Musk's acquisition of Twitter, revealing many behind-the-scenes details. These include Musk's consideration of launching a blockchain-based social media platform with integrated payment functionality—a concept inspired by his close friend Kimbal Musk—and failed attempts by Sam Bankman-Fried, founder and former CEO of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, to invest $5 billion into the Twitter acquisition.
