TechFlow reported that DeFi lending protocol Exactly Protocol has released a post-mortem analysis of its recent hack. The attack, which occurred on August 18, resulted in losses exceeding $7.6 million. The root cause was a vulnerability in the DebtManager peripheral contract.
The attack involved two attackers: the primary attacker obtained 97% of the stolen assets, while a copycat attacker took approximately 3%. A total of 117 accounts were affected, with overall losses amounting to $7,612,038. The top 10 affected accounts accounted for 84% of the total losses, with the largest single loss nearing $1.8 million (23.3% of total losses), and the second-largest loss around $1.7 million (22.19% of total losses).
Exactly Protocol stated that it will collaborate with ABDK to conduct formal audits of all protocols and peripheral contracts used in its Web App, and plans to reintroduce the relevant functionality in September.
