TechFlow news, according to the official blog, OpenSea announced it will release two Ethereum Request for Comments (ERC-7496 and ERC-7498) and two Seaport Improvement Proposals (SIP-14 and SIP-15) to advance the redeemable NFT ecosystem. Over the coming weeks, OpenSea will collaborate with developers and creators, soliciting feedback to ensure these standards meet the needs of the ecosystem. The OpenSea team plans to build additional product initiatives upon these standards to support diverse use cases for redeemable NFTs.
OpenSea has already released a proof of concept allowing users to mint Baby Burn eggs on the OpenSea platform, then proceed to a redemption page where they can burn the egg to receive a Burnie experience. Going forward, OpenSea will launch native on-chain redemption support directly within its platform and expand the on-chain redemption standard, enabling creators to more easily link items from their NFT collections with off-chain redemption experiences outside OpenSea, while tracking redemption status on-chain via traits or burning.
In addition, the team is exploring partnerships to deliver no-code solutions that help creators easily implement off-chain redemptions across common verticals.
