TechFlow news — On August 26, Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino posted an image labeled "Tether Energy," stating that "progress on Tether's energy production and Bitcoin mining facilities is going smoothly." The community has questioned the authenticity of the image, suggesting it may have been digitally synthesized.
Paolo Ardoino responded today, affirming that the Bitcoin mining facility shown in the image is real and located in Latin America. However, to avoid disruptions, he declined to disclose the exact location. He added that progress at the site is proceeding well, with team members working around the clock to begin operations within the coming weeks.
He further explained that several months ago, Tether launched the "Tether Energy" initiative, establishing partnerships with companies worldwide by providing funding, infrastructure, development resources, and general expertise to support renewable energy-powered Bitcoin mining operations. Tether believes Bitcoin mining must be geographically decentralized as much as possible, aiming to reduce the current high concentration in specific countries.
