TechFlow reports, according to the official blog, BNB Chain announced that the BNB Greenfield testnet will undergo routine maintenance and upgrade from 14:00 to 18:00 Beijing time on August 31, upgrading to version v0.2.4. All previously stored data will be cleared, and account balances will be reset. As the final reset before mainnet launch, the primary goal is to fix bugs from previous versions and roll out new features.
The announcement also stated that after the reset, all test tokens (tBNB) on Greenfield will be zeroed out. They are preparing an airdrop campaign to reward and incentivize active users. According to the airdrop rules, users holding fewer than 10 tBNB will receive an equivalent amount via airdrop. This means users won't need to repeat the faucet and cross-chain bridge processes.
In addition, all buckets and objects on Greenfield will be deleted and will no longer be accessible or queryable.
The upgrade will introduce a completely new pricing model and support new features such as storage provider exit and bucket migration, along with fixing numerous bugs. BNB Chain is currently soliciting proposals for Greenfield storage provider solutions.
