TechFlow news, according to Yonhap News Agency, a 22-year-old man in South Korea accumulated 50 million KRW in debt due to failed cryptocurrency investments. He later committed multiple robbery and theft offenses.
Gwangju District Court sentenced the man to two years and six months in prison, suspended for three years, and ordered him to complete 200 hours of community service on charges of aggravated robbery and theft.
The man robbed a convenience store with a weapon in June this year, obtaining 570,000 KRW, and was also involved in four theft cases. The court ruled that he committed the crimes due to financial hardship and that the amounts involved were relatively small, thus granting leniency.
