TechFlow news — Digital Currency Group (DCG) has filed a motion seeking to dismiss the lawsuit brought by cryptocurrency exchange Gemini against the company and its founder Barry Silbert, describing the July litigation as "a continuation of the Winklevosses’ year-long, Twitter-based character assassination campaign."
Gemini filed the lawsuit on July 7, accusing Silbert of being the "mastermind" behind alleged fraud against Genesis creditors, claiming he directly participated in misleading creditors about Genesis' financial condition, contributing to its bankruptcy. In the motion filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, DCG argues these allegations are baseless and adds that Gemini, along with Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss, is engaged in a "public relations campaign through litigation." The motion asserts that neither DCG nor Silbert was involved in the operations of Genesis, nor did they have "any meaningful involvement in the Gemini Earn program."
