TechFlow news, according to Reuters, the Central Bank of Brazil announced that its upcoming digital currency will be named DREX, aiming to promote financial services through this currency.
It is reported that DREX will use distributed ledger technology (DLT) to settle wholesale interbank transactions, while retail access will be based on tokenized bank deposits.
Central bank officials previously predicted that the Brazilian digital currency would begin adoption by the end of 2024, following the completion of the testing phase.
