TechFlow reports, according to The Wall Street Journal, that former FTX executive Ryan Salame is under investigation by federal prosecutors in Manhattan for alleged violations of campaign finance laws.
The investigation centers on funds Salame provided to support his girlfriend Michelle Bond’s 2022 congressional campaign, including direct financial contributions and loans used for the campaign.
Bond raised over $660,000 in donations, including $54,000 from Salame. She also received endorsements from Donald Trump Jr. and Texas Senator Ted Cruz. This investigation is separate from the case against FTX co-founder SBF regarding the alleged misuse of customer deposits, in which Salame has not been charged.
