TechFlow reports, according to The Block, that members of the Ethereum community have proposed a new standard to enhance the security of DeFi protocols. The proposed standard, known as ERC-7265, would enable "circuit breakers," allowing DeFi protocols to easily add fallback mechanisms into their smart contracts to block tokens from leaving the contract in the event of a hack.
The standard was created by @tcb_00, @Diyahir, and @real_philogy.
As ERC-7265 is currently a proposed standard, it remains to be seen whether the Ethereum core team will accept and implement it as a final standard.
