TechFlow news, the ETHShanghai 2023 summit officially kicked off, with renowned American investor and bestselling author of "A Bull in China: Investing Profitably in the World's Greatest Market," Jim Rogers, attending the Singapore satellite event. He joined Suji Yan, founder of Mask Network, in a discussion on how Web3 in Asian markets can rise.
Rogers has consistently maintained an optimistic outlook toward Asia and the Chinese market, believing that Asian countries, especially China, possess tremendous potential and room for growth.
Regarding national regulatory policies on digital currencies, Rogers pointed out that historically, some governments have taken hostile stances toward new asset classes, but such attitudes have ultimately proven wrong. Most governments favor controlling money and are unlikely to relinquish their monetary monopolies.
On the topic of AI and data privacy, Rogers noted that the growing power of governments and bureaucracies, combined with technological advancement, may lead to reduced privacy. At the same time, he emphasized that technological progress will transform the world and offer solutions to emerging challenges.
Now 80 years old, Rogers has lived through numerous market cycles. As early as the 1990s, he invested in China's stock market—backing industries such as winemaking—due to his confidence in China's development. Although Rogers himself does not invest in cryptocurrencies, it is reported that his wife actively participates in crypto investments and NFT art.
At the end of the session, Mask Network presented Mr. Rogers with a portion of MASK tokens, encouraging him to explore the new frontier of Web3.
