TechFlow news — On June 24, according to Decrypt, South Korean telecom giant KT announced plans to invest $5.3 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) service development over the next five years.
The company aims to achieve annual sales exceeding 1 trillion Korean won ($764 million) by 2025 and establish itself as a leader in the field. At the launch event, KT unveiled its AI-driven strategies for robotics, healthcare, education, and customized AI services for logistics customers.
KT also plans to expand its lineup of AI-powered robots, including outdoor delivery robots, small-scale logistics robots, and agricultural delivery robots.
In addition, KT will introduce remote healthcare services leveraging AI technology to manage chronic diseases, as well as the "Genie TV Care" service to support vulnerable populations such as elderly individuals living alone. The company will collaborate with Singapore Telecommunications to launch an AI-based transportation platform, reinforcing Singapore's role as a logistics hub in East Asia, and commercialize AI healthcare services in Vietnam, focusing on cancer and chronic disease patients.
