TechFlow news — Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said he recently held a virtual meeting with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler. However, prior to this, he had made multiple attempts to meet the chair in person, all of which were unsuccessful. Armstrong noted that whenever a new regulator takes office, he makes every effort to arrange meetings between his team and the regulator to better understand regulatory policies. Unfortunately, they had not previously been granted such an opportunity.
Over the following year, Armstrong said they made several additional attempts and eventually scheduled a virtual meeting, but Gensler appeared extremely unenthusiastic. When asked how to navigate the registration process, the chair responded, “Talk to your lawyers. I’m not here to give you advice.”
