TechFlow news, on June 2, Trip.com, an overseas subsidiary of travel service provider Ctrip, became the first global travel service company to enter the NFT space by launching its first NFT collection, "Trekki."
Reportedly, Trekki is themed around a cartoon dolphin character and consists of a total of 10,000 NFTs, now open for registration on the official Trekki website. These NFTs will be sold via blind boxes in the third quarter of 2023. Trekki NFTs are categorized by rarity, with each possessing unique personalities and various travel-related backgrounds.
The goal of Trekki is to connect Web3 digital nomads with the world of travel, enabling travelers who value unique experiences and digital collectibles to enjoy various benefits on the Trip.com platform.
This new NFT also features a unique gamified growth mechanism—Trekki holders can unlock more perks through travel activities. The project is also seeking partnerships with successful Web3 players and travel partners to offer additional benefits to holders and strengthen the connection between digital assets and real-world travel experiences.
