TechFlow reports that BNB Chain plans to conduct a network upgrade at block height 29,020,050, expected to occur at 5:30 AM Beijing time on June 12.
The Luban hard fork will include three proposals: BEP-126, BEP-174, and BEP-221, aiming to create a faster and more secure network for users.
Among them, BEP-126 introduces the "Fast Finality" mechanism, which makes it impossible to reverse a block once it has been finalized on the network, thereby reducing the likelihood of chain reorganizations.
BEP-174 proposes "Cross-chain Relay Management" to mitigate potential security issues in the BBSC Bridge and introduces "managers" for relayers selected through on-chain governance.
Finally, BEP-221 proposes a "CometBFT Light Block Verification" system, suggesting the addition of new contracts in blockchains using CometBFT technology to verify specific blocks from other compatible blockchains and enable data transfer between these blockchains, such as storage-focused BNB Greenfield and BNB Chain.
