TechFlow news: At Microsoft's Build 2023 developer conference, the company announced it will roll out a new feature in the coming months—adding an AI assistant called Copilot to Windows 11. This feature will function similarly to the Copilot sidebar already seen in Edge, Office apps, and even GitHub.
In addition, Microsoft has agreed to digitally sign all AI-generated artwork produced by its applications with an encrypted watermark indicating that the content was created using an algorithm.
The company will apply cryptographic signatures to AI-generated images from Bing Image Creator and Microsoft Designer. Previously, images created using Bing Image Creator included a small "b" in the lower-right corner, while those generated by Microsoft Designer's visual design tool did not.
Now, Microsoft will sign images produced by both tools according to the C2PA standard, clearly disclosing their origin within the image metadata.
Additionally, OpenAI will begin using Bing as ChatGPT's default search engine. The new search capability is now available to ChatGPT Plus users and will soon be enabled for all free ChatGPT users via plugins in ChatGPT.
