TechFlow news, according to sources, Meta Platforms (META), the owner of Facebook, has been fined $1.3 billion by EU privacy regulators for transferring user data to the United States, setting a record penalty in the European Union.
The ruling is expected to increase pressure on the U.S. government to finalize an agreement that would allow Meta and thousands of other multinational companies to continue sending such data to the U.S. The decision is due to be announced later on Monday.
