TechFlow news, Sky Mavis, the publisher of Axie Infinity, plans to launch the card game Axie Infinity: Origins on Apple's App Store. Previously, the game was only available in limited regions on Google Play and via the company's Mavis Hub. This card-based strategy game will offer players free non-NFT "starter" characters and will first launch on Apple Stores in Latin American and Asian countries including Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The game has already been installed 1.5 million times across all platforms and aims to continue its global expansion through Google and Apple mobile users.
Sky Mavis has also launched Mavis Market, a curated NFT marketplace powered by the company’s native Ronin blockchain. Starting Wednesday, the marketplace will feature collectibles from third-party games or dapps deployed on Ronin. The company also plans to launch a merchandise store.
Last year's $625 million hack dealt a significant blow to Axie Infinity, but the company is working to recover. In March, a complete overhaul of the Ronin core system made the network more decentralized and secure. Additionally, the company has partnered with game development studios including Tribes Studio, Bali Games, Directive Games, and Bowled.io to expand the Axie Infinity universe and allow certain games to use Axie IP.
