TechFlow news — AI development company Together has announced a $20 million seed funding round led by Lux Capital, with participation from Long Journey Ventures, Robot Ventures, and individual investors including PayPal co-founder Scott Banister, OpenSea co-founder Alex Atallah, and Uniswap COO MC Lader. The funds will be used to build an open-source artificial intelligence and cloud platform.
Together has established partnerships with decentralized infrastructure providers, open-source communities, and academic and corporate research labs, and has already launched several AI projects, including GPT-JT, OpenChatKit, and RedPajama. Its goal is to help create open models that surpass closed models, making open source the default approach for integrating AI. Through research in distributed optimization, the company has built a dedicated cloud platform capable of efficiently scaling training and inference for large models, and plans to open access to this platform in the coming months.
